Airliners은
Jetphotos,
Planespotters와 함께 3대 항공 사진 커뮤니티이다.
1995년에 만들어졌으며,
2016년 6월경에 새로운 인터페이스로 리뉴얼되었다. 시간대는 국제 표준시(UTC 0)를 사용한다.
사진 업로드 기준이 매우 엄격해서, 합성은 거의 찾을 수 없다. 사진을 올려도 'Screener'의 심사를 받고 수락되어야지만 올릴 수 있다. 처음 사진을 올릴 때 상태가 ‘Screening’이라고 뜨는데 진짜로 Screening이 진행 중이면 사진의 edit와 delete 버튼이
‘EDIT(locked) DELETE(locked)’상태여야 한다.
[2] Initial Screening, HQ1, Appealed, Asks for second opinion 모두 공통이다.
Rejected의 경우
Photo Acceptance Guide에 다양한 거절 사유가 있다.
[3] Reject되면 Jetphotos.com과는 달리 자동삭제가 되지 않는다. 이 가이드에는 Banding과 Halos가 없다.
좀 애매하다 싶은것은 High Quality(HQ1,HQ2)를 일단 주고 다시 심사한 뒤 HQ1에서 통과된 경우 HQ2로 올라간다.
[4] 일반적인 스크리닝에서는 볼 수 없지만 HQ1에서 리젝된 것을 어필로 뒤집으면 HQ1에서 통과되는 상황이 나온다.
아니면 'Asks for Second Opinion'이 나와서 다른 스크리너한테 넘어가기도 한다.
[5] 'Asks for Second Opinion'은 Accepted,Rejected,HQ1과 같은 확실한 판정이 나올 때 까지 무제한으로 할 수 있다.
리젝된 사진을 Appeal하면
[6] Appeal Queue로 넘길 수 있는 사진 수량은 최대 2장이다.
Appeal 신청 즉시 edit와 delete버튼이 잠긴다.
[7] 2018년 이전에는 이 두 버튼이 어필 즉시 잠기지 않았다.
어필 후 Head Screener가 최종 판단하는데 걸리는 시간은
[8] 일반적인 Screening과 달리 Appeal은 Head screener한테 재심사를 받는다.
케바케여서 이렇다 할 정답이 없다. 만약에 Rejected 되면 상태가 “Rejected After Appeal”이라고 나온다. 사진도 Rejected 코너로 되돌아가고 최초 리젝때 있던
'APPEAL'버튼도 사라진다.
[9] 이때 Head screener의 단골 멘트는 "Screener (is) correct","Initial screening correct","Screener rejection correct"이다.
결과는 이메일로 날아오고, 경우에 따라서 아래의 내용으로 온다.

사진을 올릴 때 촬영장소, 기종, 항공사 등을 모두 기재해야 하며
[10] 항공기 사진의 경우 'Builder'칸을 반드시 비워야 한다. 안그러면 Info rejection을 먹게 된다.
가운데 대문짝하게 워터마크로
AIRLINERS.NET 이라고 적혀있다. 다만 이는 저작권자가 자유롭게 설정할 수 있다. 무단도용 시 어떻게든 글을 내린다는 얘기가 있다.
스카이팀,
스타얼라이언스,
원월드 등 동맹체 특도기에 카테고리를 'Colorful/Special Paint'로 설정하거나 builder칸이 비어 있지 않은 경우,화물기에 cargo로 국가항공기에 military로 설정하지 않은 경우 등도 Category reject을 받게 된다.

예루살렘이라면,
Jetphotos는
메카 정도.
Planespotters는
메디나 정도 되겠다.
항덕들에게 있어서는
성지와 다를 바 없다.
