1. 개요[편집]
1992년 개봉한 디즈니 애니메이션 알라딘의 OST. 앨런 멩컨이 작곡, 하워드 애쉬먼이 작사를 맡았으며, 로빈 윌리엄스가 노래를 불렀다.
작중에서 알라딘에 의해 램프 밖으로 나온 지니가 어떤 소원이든 들어줄 수 있다며 자신의 능력을 자랑하는 노래이다.
1993년 제 65회 아카데미 시상식과 제 50회 골든 글로브 시상식에 주제가상 후보로 올랐으며 아카데미 시상식에서 공연을 펼쳤다. 하지만 같은 작품의 주제곡인 A Whole New World에 밀려 수상을 달성하지 못했다.
2011년 시애틀에서 초연되고 2014년 브로드웨이로 옮겨간 뮤지컬 알라딘에 삽입되었으며 지니 역의 제임스 먼로 아이글하트와 알라딘 역의 아담 제이콥스가 노래를 불렀다. 노래 속에 차례대로 미녀와 야수의 Beauty and the Beast와 Belle, 인어공주의 Part of Your World와 Under the Sea, 포카혼타스의 Colors of the Wind, 미녀와 야수의 Belle가 짧게 삽입되어 지니가 부르는 것을 들을 수 있다. 앨범의 보너스 트랙으로 실린 Genie Medley에서 왜 Friend like Me에 디즈니 곡들의 메들리가 들어가게 되었는지를 엿볼 수 있다.
