Ctrl[2] 앨범 트레일러. 영상에서 들리는 목소리(I’m zoning in with my homegirl, SZA - Self Savior, Zig-Zag-Zig Allah) 의 주인공은 우탱 클랜의 RZA이다. 덧붙여 SZA는 우탱 클랜의 음악에서 많은 영향을 받았다고 언급한 적이 있다. (Trailer)	SZA - WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN road to Ctrl

마지막의 속삭이는 남자 목소리의 주인은 퍼렐 윌리엄스이다.

기타를 독학한 SZA의 친구가 두세 개의 코드를 반복해서 연주했는데 다른 일을 하다가 하루가 끝날 때쯤 그 코드들이 생각이 났다고 한다. 결국 친구에게 다시 연주해 달라고 했고 그게 곡 초반의 기타 전주가 되었다.

곡 작업을 위해 150에서 200 곡 정도를 고르고 있었던 중에 앨범 발매가 계속 지연되자 소속사에서 노래가 담긴 하드 드라이브를 빼앗아 발매했다고 한다. 어느 날 스튜디오에 갔더니 사라져 있었다고(...) 한 달만 더 있었으면 완전히 다른 앨범이 되었을 것이라고 말했다.

자신의 예명인 'SZA'의 알파벳을 따 EP ~~와 다음으로 를 발매할 계획이었으나 3년 후 을 발매했다.~~

곡에 들어 있는 어머니와 할머니의 skit은 SZA의 가치관을 드러내면서 감정 기복을 조절해 앨범 전체 스토리의 중심을 잡아 주는 역할을 한다. SZA는 그래미 어워드에 어머니, 할머니와 같이 참석하기도 했다.
