2016년 8월 19일에 발매된 CL의 싱글. 미국 진출 발표 이후 미국에서 영어로 발매한 첫 데뷔 싱글이다. LIFTED는 우탱클랜의 1집에 수록된 메소드 맨의 솔로곡 'Method Man'을 샘플링한 곡이다.

2016년 10월 22일자 빌보드 차트의 메인 차트인 'US Billboard Hot 100'에 94위로 진입해 1주간 차트인했다. 이는 한국 가수로는 세 번째, 한국 여성 솔로 가수로는 첫 번째 진입이다. 피처링으로 참여한 싸이의 <Daddy> 이후 CL의 두 번째 핫100 차트 진입이기도 하다.

또한 발매 직후 Apple Music의 'Best of the week'에 선정됐다.

2015년 11월 팬 서비스 차원에서 무료로 공개한 Hello Bitches 이후 북미에서 처음으로 낸 정식 싱글이다.

뮤직비디오에 원곡자인 메소드 맨이 깜짝 출연했다.

인터뷰를 통해 밝힌 바에 따르면, 몇 년 전 새해에 스튜디오에서 프로듀서 테디와 우탱클랜의 뮤직비디오들을 감상하다가 우연히 '메소드 맨'을 보게 되었고, 부스에서 '메소드 맨'의 가사와 'Lifted'로 탄생한 멜로디를 흥얼거리다 만들어지게 된 곡이라고 한다. 메소드 맨이 뮤직비디오에 까메오로 출연하기도 했다.#

어떤 이유에서인지 한국 음원 스트리밍 시장에서는 들을 수 없다. 아무래도 CL의 해외 소속사와 국내 유통사와의 협의가 잘 되지 않은 모양이다. 현재 Apple Music과 Spotify, 구글 플레이 뮤직 등의 해외 스트리밍 사이트에서만 구매 및 재생이 가능하다.

한국 지역에서는 유일하게 Apple Music으로 재생이 가능했지만 서비스가 중지된 일자는 확인이 불가하며, 현재는 검색 및 재생이 불가능하다.
