빌리 오션의 대표곡으로 그의 가장 큰 히트곡 중 하나이다. 한국에서도 추억의 팝송으로 유명하며 제목처럼 무더운 여름날, 캐리비안 해를 떠오르는 게 하는 여름 노래였다. 90년초반에 국내 여름 관련 제품 TV광고음악, 여름 관련 방송에 단골로 나오던 노래였다.
