== 개요 ==
2021년 12월 16일 0시 15분경 여러 서버에서 장애가 발생한 사건이다.

[[트위치]], [[디스코드]], [[넷플릭스]], [[리그 오브 레전드]], [[포켓몬스터|포켓몬 통신 서버]], [[에이펙스 레전드]] 등 아마존의 [[아마존 웹 서비스|Amazon Web Services]](이하 AWS)를 사용하는 여러 플렛폼에서 장애가 일어났다.

AWS는 일주일 전인 12월 7일(현지시간)에도 동부서버 장애로 인하여 약 30분간 통신장애를 일으킨 적이 있다.[[https://m.etnews.com/20211208000103|#]]  이번은 서부서버인 US-WEST-1과 US-WEST-2의 장애로 보이며 이번은 복구가 빨랐다는 평이다. [[https://www.theverge.com/2021/12/15/22837637/aws-west-is-down-twitch-outage-amazon|#]] 서버 과부하로 인한 장애라고 한다.
기존과 달리 동아시아와 연결된 서부에 위치한 서버에 문제가 생기면서 우리나라와 일본에 영향을 많이 준것으로 예상된다.
