1853년에 발표된 [[미국]]의 [[민요]]로 [[스티븐 포스터]]가 작사, 작곡한 [[켄터키]]에 있는 옛 고향의 집을 생각하며 지은 애수를 띈 감상적인 발라드이다. 어릴 적 고향에 대한 그리움은 포스터의 작품에 종종 나타나는 주제로, 이는 그가 유년기를 보낸 하얀 시골집(White Cottage)에 대한 기억에 기인한다고 믿어지고 있다. 

원제는 'My Old Kentucky Home, Good-Night!'이며, 현재는 'My Old Kentucky Home'로 축약된 제목으로 많이 알려져 있다.

이 노래는 많은 인기를 얻었고 [[빙 크로스비]] 등 여러 음악가들에 의해 커버되었으며 1928년에는 켄터키 주의 주가(州歌)로 지정되었다.

 * 가사 중 현재 시점에서는 분명히 흑인차별적인 부분을(darkies, darkey) 개사한 버전도 있다. 흥미로운 점은 발매 당시엔 노예제 폐지론자들의 지지를 받았던 노래였다. 한편으로는 [[블랙페이스 #s-2|민스트럴 쇼]]의 배경음악으로도 많이 사용되었다.
