1966년에 [[미국]] [[휴스턴]]에서 가수 겸 기타리스트 '''메이오 톰프슨'''(Mayo Thompson), 드러머 '''프레더릭 바텔름'''(Frederick Barthelme), 베이시스트 '''스티브 커닝엄'''(Steve Cunningham)에 의해 결성되었다.

1960년대에 텍사스에서 [[사이키델릭 록]] 밴드로 활동했고 60년대 후반에 해체했다가 1970년대에 영국에서 재결성하여 [[포스트 펑크]] 밴드로 활동하고 있다.
